Which are the top coastal towns in Tuscany? Here we take a stroll through the region\u2019s most scenic, atmospheric and dazzling\u00a0seaside destinations<\/strong>. From all-time favourite\u00a0Viareggio<\/strong>\u00a0on the Versilia coast, to family-friendly\u00a0Follonica<\/strong>, and romantic\u00a0Castiglione della Pescaia<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Porto Ercole<\/strong> \u2013 we\u2019ve collected a list of our favourites.<\/p>\n

Seaside towns<\/strong>\u00a0are synonymous with long strolls, gelato, lazy days and\u00a0sunset\u00a0aperitivi<\/em><\/strong>. It\u2019s about trying to find the perfect\u00a0fish restaurant<\/strong>. It\u2019s about sipping an iced coffee at an open air table caressed by the sea breeze. It\u2019s about relaxing in\u00a0the fragrant\u00a0shade of a pine grove<\/strong>. And\u00a0losing track of time while you watch the yachts rocking softly in the port.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

VIAREGGIO<\/strong><\/p>\n

Viareggio is one of the most\u00a0renowned seaside towns in Tuscany<\/strong>, loved by families, the young and the old alike. The\u00a0art nouveau\u00a0buildings<\/strong>, built over a century ago in its heyday, give\u00a0it a chic and dreamy quality. Here\u00a0life still revolves around the\u00a0Passeggiata<\/em>, the 3 kilometre long\u00a0promenade<\/strong>\u00a0with luxury hotels and family\u00a0pensioni<\/em>\u00a0on one side, shops and locales of all sorts on the other. Viareggio is not about sea views. All you see from the\u00a0lungomare<\/em>\u00a0are the entrances to the\u00a0bathing resorts<\/strong>\u00a0.<\/p>\n

This is a place to savour\u00a0Italian beach life<\/strong>\u00a0at its most civilised, with a touch of old-world charm. Beach huts, bars,\u00a0gelaterie<\/em>, games for kids and elegant shops are in plentiful supply. After a lazy day spent in one of the nicely organised\u00a0bagni<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0or bathing establishments, the evening sees people get dressed up in their summer finest to do a bit of window shopping, or go for an after dinner drink along the waterfront promenade.<\/p>\n

La Digue has a unique atmosphere, where the rhythms of true island living still beat loud, and where the bicycle and ox-cart are the main modes of transport. Take a leisurely bicycle ride through palm-lined avenues to Anse Source d\u2019Argent, which is counted among the finest (and certainly the most photographed)\u00a0beaches<\/a> in the world. La Digue beaches are truly in a class of their own, with their imposing granite boulders that meet crystalline waters on a beaches of the softest, pure-white sand.<\/p>\n

As a trip approaches, anxiety increases for guests. Where do I need to go? How do I get there? How will I get a key for the space? How do I plan what to do on my trip? Put your guest at ease by giving them all of the info they\u2019ll need up front instead of making them wait until the last minute.
